Our History and Mission
We, the residents of the Bonnabel and Old Metairie neighborhoods, are proud of the Bonnabel Civic Association and would like to provide you with a history of our origins and history in hopes that you will join us.
The Bonnabel Civic Association was organized in June of 1971 by residents in the area of 1-10, Metairie Road, and Bonnabel Blvd.
The original Bonnabel area is bound by Metairie Road to Lake Pontchartrain and Hesper to Homestead Avenues.
In recent years, we've increased the area represented by our association, now recognized by Jefferson Parish. It includes West Esplanade S. at Bonnabel, east to Lake Avenue (or parish line), and south to the North I-10 Service Road.
Our membership is not limited to our subdivision and welcomes those who need assistance to join us.
A comforting nook located on Bonnabel Boulavard. Nestled between Lake Pontchartrain and Metairie road. Our little slice of Louisiana is a special place. Bonnabel has a rich history of great residents. The Bonnabel Civic Association was founded in 1971 to celebrate this great place and preserve it for future generations.
